I came out to Westlake from New Jersey to visit some family and the hotel concierge recommended this course.
It was the most scenic I have ever played (and I’ve played in Hawaii and have played Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach. there’s no comparison). The pictures here actually don’t do it justice.
I don’t know about the course because I don’t golf much but the restaurant here (TJs) is excellent. Reasonable prices and GREAT food.
dont drive the carts on the hills if the grass is wet, mine did a 180 and slid about 40 feet after I put the parking break on. luckily it didnt flip and i managed to hang on and not get thrown out.
great course, very scenic. could be a bit more well maintained. rough is cut too often and dead in spots.
I don’t care what anyone says, this course kicks ass. The layout is really quirky but a lot of fun, especially holes 3, 7, 8, and 17 (the holes most people think should have been re-designed). Sure, the course is not “fair”, bu
came close from a hole in one on 7 twice (hit the bottom part of the stick but bounced away once), lipped out after hitting a terrible shot that bounced off a sprinkler head another time
also nearly aced 17. hit the actual flag on the stick with a sand wedge, had the ball drop straight down to within inches. didn’t go in though. lol
and i birdied every par three on the back nine once – holed pitch shot on 11, 6 iron to inches on 14, holed 40 footer on the 17th green. so you can see why i love this course
Great views
