Sterling Hills Golf Course is a hidden jewel, tucked in among Ventura County’s fertile fields of Camarillo, California, just half-way between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Lush avocado and citrus groves give way to the 18-hole championship course, designed by Robert Muir Graves and Damian Pascuzzo. Opened for play in October 2002 and only minutes from Los Angeles with cooler coastal temperatures, Moorpark Country Club offers spectacular panoramic views including glimpses of the Channel Islands which are visible from several elevated tee locations. Secluded in the canyons and citrus groves the three distinct and returning nines – Creekside, Ridgeline and Canyon Crest, each have their own unique personality. The wonderful coastal temperatures give Moorpark Country Club the perfect year-around climate for golf. The 20,800 square foot clubhouse designed in the style of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright includes every modern amenity, and the English country décor creates a peaceful and relaxing environment for post round festivities.

The rustic tranquility of the course transports players to a place where the competition is between man and nature. Olivas Links showcases views of the Ventura Harbor, Ventura hillside, and the Channel Islands. With four distinct sets of tees, the course challenges players of all abilities, offering various shot-making options. The practice facility is an acre and a half grass tee, with five bunkered target greens. A pair of bent grass greens allow players to practice a variety of short shots on a putting surface that delivers a true roll and consistent speed.

Buenaventura Golf Course

Originally designed by legendary golf course architect William Park Bell in 1932, Buenaventura attracted golfers until it closed in May 2004, for renovation. After a $6.5 million dollar renovation, including complete re-routing of the golf course and new playing surfaces, Buenaventura Golf Course opened in March of 2005. With large bent grass greens, coupled with emerald green rye grass fairways, Buenaventura is one of the finest municipal courses in the Southland. With subtle undulations and contours, all the greens have been re-sculpted using classic Bell designs. Beautiful mature trees line Buenaventura’s pristine fairways, while white sand bunkers guard the greens.

The new design enhances the woodlands feel that people loved so much about the old Buenaventura. The hazards look like they were not merely manufactured, but rather discovered in the landscape. Among the many new considerations for the new course, safety, playability, strategy and variety all played key rolls in the development of the new design.

Buenaventura is located off the 101 freeway 40 minutes north of Los Angeles, and 30 minutes south of Santa Barbara.

Los Robles Greens Golf Course
